Sometimes work can be fun. But also our work gives us a purpose in life. At least those of us that work can claim we at least contribute to socity and provide for our families.

And that was just a ramble to see how things worked. LOL. But at least somebody responded and yes I agree that work can be fun and I enjoy most of my job, although the stress factor has been higher than normal lately. I do love my job and the design process . I do think I need to readjust the way I do things and provide my service but that is all in good time.

Well I know how you want to adjust things... by being on the beech!

Design Theory

So I wanted to voice my opinion on the design process and how I perceive the process is. I deal with coming up with a design for client's, at least when I have them, all the time. But how is a person to come up with a good solid design when they do not know anything about the company. Personally I think that the first step is to get to know you client. I think visiting the client at their place of business should be the first step. Then the next step should be the brainstorming of design ideas. I use alot of scratch pads in this process. The next is to take some of my favorite ideas and put them into a rough draft and see what looks the best. The next step is to ask my wife, she really is controlling. Once I come down to the final design then I have to come up with the proper images and what not in order to build the outer shell of the site. Then I have the great fun of having to program the functionality. This is my favorite part because it takes alot problem solving and concentration. But enough of this rant and I will continue with my thought on design....
